The Board of Commissioners of the Chattanooga Housing Authority is constituted by charter from the State of Tennessee. The Board consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor of Chattanooga to serve a five year term. At least one member must be a resident of CHA’s Public Housing or participant in CHA’s HCVP program. The members of the Board of Commissioners elect one member to serve as Chairperson for a term of one year. The Chairperson may serve multiple terms. In addition to the appointed members, The Executive Director of the agency serves as Secretary and a legal counsel is also chosen.
