Chattanooga Housing Authority

College Hill Courts

Text Box: Sandwiched between downtown Chattanooga and a ridge called College Hill, this development was the first public housing approved for the Chattanooga Housing Authority. Occupied initially in 1940, this primarily townhouse site features large courtyards and rear service drives, disguising its relatively high density of 23 units per acre for its 497 family units. College Hill completed a comprehensive modernization in the early 1990’s.
College Hill has housed many of Chattanooga’s minority leaders, including a City Judge, College President, and Chamber of Commerce Manager of the Year.
